Rising from modest beginnings in 1965 with one ship cruising to Mexico, Princess has grown to one of the largest cruise lines in the world. Today, its fleet carries more than 700,000 passengers each year to more worldwide destinations than any other major line. Princess was catapulted to stardom in 1977 when it became the sea-going star of The Love Boat television series, which introduced millions of viewers to the still-new concept of a sea-going vacation. The company name and famous "seawitch" logo have remained synonymous with cruising ever since. Holland America Line's MS Zuiderdam is 82,000 gross tons and hosts 1432 guests and 561 crew. Her maiden voyage was in 2002. The grandly appointed and recently enhanced Zuiderdam offers an on-board experience defined by spacious comfort, and the latest Signature of Excellence features and amenities. Upgrades begin with new fixtures and soft goods in staterooms and bathrooms. Staterooms offer a generous amount of personal space and many feature commanding ocean views with private verandahs. Zuiderdam has has a 3 story atrium, teak decks and a covered pool area. Zuiderdam's Pinnacle Grill is an alternative dining venue that offers clients a premium dining experience. Recently updated, the ship added several new dining venues, a Culinary Arts Center and all new cabin amenities, including flat screen TVs and DVD players. Zuiderdam features more than $2 million worth of art and rare artifacts displayed throughout the ship. more
